Cloud Services and Architectures

Cloud computing has grown up, and by now is a lot more than just making an IT infrastructure available over the Internet — cloud solutions are also providing an increasingly number of services which can be accessed quickly, and in a distributed manner. In addition to a business being able to scale out its own IT services into the cloud, it can now also make use of services which are extremely difficult to run in one’s own infrastructure. In particular, the ease of international distributability, constantly improving administration interfaces, growing number of services and falling costs of cloud solutions can mean a big advantage to companies when these are used correctly.

Goal

In this seminar, you’ll become acquainted with the fundamental structure and use of cloud services provided for businesses. As examples, we’ll use the major providers of such services, ranging from Google and AWS up to Microsoft Azure and Alibaba Cloud. We’ll also cover different types of cloud deployments in business (public, private, hybrid, etc.) as well as basic terms like IaaS, PaaS, SaaS und FaaS. Finally, we’ll also give you an overview and classification of the most essential cloud services provided to businesses.
